Vintage Willow Ware Lot of Two Pudding Bowls, Blue Transfer outlets Dishes, No Birds, 48, Made in England, Rare, Excellent Condition

These two sweet little vintage Willow Ware pudding bowls measure 3 1/8" tall x 4 5/16" across opening and 3" tall x 4 5/16" across . The unusual shape are for British-style puddings and notches on the bottom are so the steamed puddings could be tied with string. The design shows stylized blue transfer designs of pagodas, trees, buildings and water. These bowls are also unusual because they do not have the pair of birds which are typical of Blue Willow Ware pieces. The bases are marked with impressed: "MADE IN ENGLAND, 48". They each have shiny glaze. I am guessing that these were made in the 1950s or earlier. These bowls are in excellent condition, with dirt, some marks and manufacturing flaws, but no other chips or cracks.

These sweet dishes are sturdy and ready to be put back to use. They make a lovely addition to a Willow Ware collection.
