This is an antique probably 1920's or 30's, French, carved & hand painted, souvenir, conch shell depicting a volcano erupting outlets over the surrounding, calm harbor. This is probably an Italian scene of Mt. Vesuvius overlooking Naples Bay. It is very nicely executed and has remained in very good condition. It can be displayed on a shelf or table as is, put on an easel, used as a paperweight or equipped with a wire wrapping to hang on the wall. It measures 4.5 inches wide and 5.5 inches in length.
