A bit of a story behind this item:
When I originally made my Baby Yoda pattern, I used a fingering weight (pretty fine) yarn, and ended up with a plush that was about 5 ½” tall. Pocket sized, and very cute, but I thought something bigger would be better, and the fingering weight yarn was just a random yarn from my stash that I didn't know where to get more of. I changed to my normal amigurumi yarn, a worsted weight (probably 2-3x as thick) and ended up with a plush that was closer to 9”, about twice as big. I liked that size, and those 9” tall plushies are the main ones that I sell when I go to craft fairs, but the doubled size got me thinking. If a twice as thick yarn gave me a twice as big baby yoda (and yes I know that's a logical assumption even without testing, but I hadn't really thought about the possibilities before), how big would it be if I doubled the yarn size again? And that's how my giant baby yoda plush was born! I remember when I was making the first one, I paused, went to my mom and younger sister, and asked if I should be concerned about how big it was getting. The consensus was no, this is fine, and amazing, and exactly how it should be. I hope this giant Grogu makes you smile as much as I did!
Huge thank you to everyone who runs Star Wars for giving crafters everywhere such awesome inspiration, and amazing shows and movies! outlets
