vintage 1940s dress, made of a cozy wool in red, ivory + navy blue check.


➡ quintessential late 40s silhouette, with strong shoulders + nipped waist + A line skirt
➡ triangular keyhole neckline, surrounded by navy celluloid buttons + topped with a hidden hook
➡ super wide collar + dramatic sleeve cuffs
➡ pert tucks across bust for optimal drape
➡ slit + hook behind neck
➡ metal zipper up the side

condition: freshly dry cleaned + ready to wear. there's a few speckle spots that didn't lift, but they are super subtle + wouldn't detract from presentation whatsoever.

also -- not entirely a flaw, but there's a seam across the back bodice, from the original seamstress using what fabric yardage she had. made it work!
