Vintage Bisque CLOWN MUSICIANS Group of Four Clowns Gilded outlets & Painted Bisque Possibly French Vintage Clown Decor GIFT

A wonderful little group of vintage painted and gilded bisque clown musicians.

I think they may be French.

They are very detailed figurines with finely painted hair and features and appear to have been chosen individually to make up this quartet as they all have what appear to be prices on their bases with 'FF' which may indicate 'French Francs'.

They are all about 5" tall, two tallest are 5 1/8" tall.

The gilding is bright and shiny making a wonderful contrast with the matte white bisque and red noses and mouths. There is nothing garish about these clowns !

Each plays a different instrument and to be honest they all look quite serious about the task...no clowning around !

In good vintage condition. They do have some faint small dark marks here and there but mainly on the backs outlets so you won't see them when on display. I think it may be from rings whilst they are held. I have shown this in photo nine. Each one has a mark or two but they are not obvious and I don't think it detracts from them.
