My name is Anja Stempfel.
I have been working with the material wood for several years.
I am spontaneously inspired by the grain of wood, the inclusions and excesses of the different types of wood.
Most of the time, I immediately recognize a landscape, or a figure, which I emphasize even more with color or try to make to shine what outlets the wood already presets.
Spiritual motifs are the main theme of my wood work.
My forms speak a clear language, but they still leave room for imagination.
The piece of wood is sawn, then painted and glued back together, creating different levels and achieving a relief-like, plastic effect.
My workpieces are all unique, created in dedication and passion for wood.
