outlets These are just stunning! This is a pair of Italian bronze bookends that are a mode of the Sleeping Lion sculptured by Antonio Canova. They are a model of the iconic original lions and are a Grand Tour collectible of his early-19th century sculptures.
The sleeping lions are on a base, one is sleeping and the other vigilant. They are at the monumental tomb of Clement XIII. These are both signed on the side and in excellent condition. They measure approx 7"W x 4.5"H x 2.5"D.
