We live very close to the beautiful Lake District and often drive over there to stay awhile.

On one such trip we discovered the wonderful paintings of A. Heaton Cooper and subsequently acquired this old framed print of one of his most famous works:

MILL DAM COTTAGES • CONISTON

Featuring the cottages so beloved of Cooper and of the area, it has been framed behind glass in a wooden surround.

This has been professionally undertaken by the A. Heaton Cooper Studio in Ambleside many years ago. In fact it was so long ago that the details on outlets the reverse depict a now extinct 3-figure telephone number.

It is rare to find such an old print by the studio devoted to Heaton Cooper's works and it would make a lovely addition to any room decor with its gentle and nostalgic imagery. The colours are still bright, crisp and clear and such cottages can still be seen in and around the Lake District today.

Little wonder then that it has recently been given World Heritage status for its outstanding beauty.
